Art Shows in Colorado
Each year the state of Colorado offers art enthusiasts many opportunities to experience art shows. In addition to many one-time shows held at art galleries around the state, there are also many exhibitions held annually. These art shows provide local and national artists the opportunity to show and sell their work as well as the chance for art appreciators to meet artists and purchase art.
Crested Butte Arts Festival
Crested Butte has been hosting an annual art show since 1972. The Crested Butte Art Festival includes diverse art, entertainment and food for those who attend. This two-day show takes place every year in late July or early August and features the work of more than 150 artists. Other festival highlights include a culinary demonstration tent, artist demonstrations and a children's art area. Admission is free.

Downtown Boulder's ArtFair
Downtown Boulder puts on an art show each year that is usually held in late July. The ArtFair offers visitors the opportunity to meet the artists and purchase artwork. The free show hosts more than 100 artists from all over the world; a jury of art professionals selects which artists participate. The Boulder art show also includes culinary and art demonstrations.

Downtown Denver's Art Festival
Denver hosts an annual downtown art show, known as Downtown Denver's Art Festival. This exhibition features Colorado artists and occurs each year on Memorial Day Weekend. More than 120 artists participate in the show, which draws more than 100,000 attendees. Admission to the show is free.

The Golden Fine Arts Festival
The Golden Fine Arts Festival takes place in Golden in the month of August and spans a weekend. This juried art event, which began in 1990, now draws more than 30,000 visitors. In 2010, some 140 artists showed their work, with 80 percent of them being Colorado residents. The festival is free of charge and includes live music and demonstrations by the artists.
